Senior Accountant – Tax Position

Our ideal candidate takes pride in being well-organized and relishes getting the small details right, likes using their analytical skills to complete challenging tax returns, embraces a dynamic and varied workload, and enjoys working as part of a team on tight deadlines. Responsibilities include: preparing tax returns for small- and medium-sized businesses as well as high net-worth individuals, using one’s accounting skills to conduct year-end reviews of business bookkeeping, and the ability to handle challenging tax returns (including Forms 1040, 1065, 1120, 1120S, and 990).

This position comes with the possibility of rapid advancement in the firm subject to experience, certification, and motivation.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting from an accredited higher education institution required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in tax preparation.
  • CPA or EA preferred, but not required.

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • UltraTax
  • Quickbooks Online
  • Proficient with a cloud-based work environment.
  • Proficient with Zoom, BombBomb, or similar.
  • Proficient with Karbon or other workflow management software.

ABOUT OUR FIRM

We are technology-focused and have been paperless since 2005 as well as supporting remote work for over a decade. When the pandemic hit, our operations didn't miss a beat. We have not only survived, but thrived in this environment. This position can be fully remote, but there are also physical offices in Gainesville, FL for those who prefer an away-from-home office.

The minimum starting salary for this position is $60,000, but considerably higher salaries are possible dependent on qualifications and experience. Bonuses are available as a supplement to salary.
